Impreso o imprimido

Hay verbos o formas verbales (el participio en el caso de imprimir) que se utilizan de forma indistinta, lo cual no siempre es correcto. Sería prácticamente imposible hablar de todos ellos, así que voy a comenzar con tres de los más frecuentes.
En un comentario en la entrada anterior, Cristina me preguntaba si era más correcto decir he imprimido o he impreso. La respuesta es que ambos participios son correctos cuando se utiliza un tiempo compuesto. Y, como bien sugería Laura en respuesta al comentario, es más correcto decir impreso cuando se emplea como adjetivo; pero eso no significa que sea un error utilizar imprimido.
Para cualquier posible duda, cito al Panhispánico:
«Aunque existe hoy una clara tendencia, más acusada en América que en España, a preferir el uso de la forma irregular impreso, ambos participios pueden utilizarse indistintamente en la formación de los tiempos compuestos y de la pasiva perifrástica: «Habían impreso en su lugar billetes de a cien» (GaMárquez Amor [Col. 1985]); «La obra [...] circulaba dos años después de haber sido impresa en una ciudad protestante» (Trabulse Orígenes [Méx. 1994]); «En total se han imprimido 35 000 carteles» (Mundo [Esp.] 11.11.96); «Esta obra ha sido imprimida por La Torre de Papel» (Prensa [Nic.] 21.10.97). En función adjetiva se prefiere en todo el ámbito hispánico la forma irregular impreso: «Contempló una vez más la imagen impresa en la tarjeta postal» (Martini Fantasma [Arg. 1986])».
Desde hace unos años, se emplea mucho el término explosionar en el lenguaje periodístico. El motivo más lógico para hacerlo es que suena más culto que explotar, pero en realidad no deberían utilizarse como sinónimos. Según el Panhispánico:
«explosionar. Este verbo puede usarse como intransitivo, con el sentido de ‘estallar o hacer explosión’; o como transitivo, con el significado de ‘hacer que [algo] explote’. Con el primer sentido, intransitivo, es preferible el uso de explotar, estallar o hacer explosión».
«explotar. Es intransitivo cuando significa ‘estallar o hacer explosión’. Debe evitarse el uso de este verbo en construcción transitiva con el significado de ‘hacer que [algo] estalle’; en estos casos, es preferible utilizar el verbo explosionar».
Teniendo esto en cuenta, se diría «la bomba explotó» mejor que «la bomba explosionó», y «el policía explosionó la bomba» en lugar de «el policía explotó la bomba». También sería correcto en este caso «el policía hizo explotar la bomba».
También es cada vez más frecuente el uso del verbo traumar en lugar de traumatizar. En contra de lo que puede parecer, no es un error, aunque la Real Academia recomienda el uso de traumatizar en el Panhispánico:
«El uso de traumatizar(se) es claramente mayoritario en el habla culta, frente a traumar(se), mucho menos frecuente, pero aceptable como derivado morfológicamente posible de trauma».
